Lula signs Taximeter Verification Rate Mirando Plating Taxi drivers
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) signed on Monday, 14, a provisional measure that exempts taxi drivers of the payment of the taximeter verification fee. According to the Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency (Secom), the rule will be valid both in the acquisition of equipment and compulsory periodic measurements.
Planalto’s estimate is that the initiative generates savings of $ 9 million per year to drivers. Another change is that the previously annual checks will be done every two years.
