Lula visits new investments from Gerdau in Ouro Branco that totaled R $ 1.5 billion
The President of the Republic, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, arrived at the Gerdau factory (GGBR4) in Ouro Branco (MG) around 3 pm on Tuesday, 11, visited the facilities of the company’s new investments and talked with workers of the company.
Lula is expected to speak soon at the event that marks the conclusion of the expansion of the factory coil laminator capacity.
According to the company, the expansion generated more than 2,500 jobs in the region and has an investment of R $ 1.5 billion.

This amount is part of a R $ 6 billion plan for the modernization and expansion of Gerdau’s operations in Minas Gerais.
In February, Gerdau CEO Gustavo Werneck said that if the Brazilian government did not take economic defense measures regarding steel importation, the company would rethink the level of investments in Brazil.
The company is scheduled for investments of R $ 6 billion in the country in 2025, maintaining the level of the previous year.
