Lula's security car is stolen from the school where the president will vote in São Bernardo

A car from the Presidency’s Institutional Security Office (GSI) was stolen this Friday, in São Bernardo do Campo, in Greater São Paulo, while Presidency security teams were inspecting the school where President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will vote in municipal elections on Sunday.

In a statement, the GSI confirmed the robbery and highlighted that no weapons were taken from the agents.

The police report made by agents at the 3rd Police Station of São Bernardo do Campo shows that they took a suitcase with pins used by agents to identify people with access to places where the president will pass and a bulletproof vest used by agents.

Among the personal belongings of the agents, who were in the car, an access badge to the Palácio do Planalto and the Navy functional card of one of the soldiers were also taken, as well as computers, cell phones and clothes.

According to the police report, the driver was alone in the car in front of the school, while the agents were still at the scene, and was taken over by two armed men.

According to Palácio do Planalto, the Presidency team that recognizes the president’s voting location, as well as the presidential communications team, was at the school to check the security situation and also the organization for voting day, on Sunday. .

When the robbery occurred, most of the teams had already left, with only one of the cars and a small group of security guards remaining at the scene. The driver, who works for the Presidency, was alone in the car waiting for the agents when she was taken over.
