Man returns ‘regretful’ and is arrested in the US after faking death and escaping
Police are still investigating where the man was during that time.. He was reported missing on August 12.
According to the criminal complaint, the man successfully researched other people who had recently disappeared. He also reportedly researched lake deaths and “how deep a body must be without resurfacing.” The information comes from ABC News.
This Wednesday (11), Borgwardt appeared in court. He is accused of obstructing police action and could be sentenced to a fine of up to US$10,000 (approximately R$59,500) and nine months in prison. His bail was set at US$500 (approximately R$3,000).

Ryan Borgwardt, 45, father of three, disappeared on August 12th. Law enforcement authorities believed he had drowned after a kayaking trip on Green Lake, from which he did not return.
An overturned kayak and a life jacket were found at the scene. Ryan’s vehicle was also recovered near Dodge Memorial Park, making his death seem the most likely option.
