Marçal invites Nunes and Boulos to a hearing; mayor refuses, but deputy agrees
Third placed in the first round of the election in São Paulo (SP), the businessman and influencer Pablo Marçal (PRTB) continues to seek the spotlight, even outside the race for mayor of Brazil’s largest city.
In a video published on his social networks, Marçal – who was involved in some of the toughest clashes in this year’s electoral campaign – invited the mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB)candidate for re-election, and federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) for a quiz on your Instagram account. Nunes declined the invitation. Boulos accepted.
“I call it without grace, without differentiation. Ask blunt questions, say what the people want to say and not what is agreed upon”, stated Marçal. “If one or both of them shows up, the stick will break.”
Quaest: 4 days before the 2nd round in São Paulo, Nunes leads with 44%; Boulos has 35%
In relation to the previous survey, the two candidates fluctuated within the margin of error. Nunes fell from 45% to 44%, while Boulos advanced from 33% to 35%
“Is Boulos going?”
Boulos’ positive response to the invitation was given through a comment on Marçal’s own publication. “I’m cool, I’ve never run away from talking to anyone. Will Mayor Ricardo Nunes agree? Or are you going to run away?” asked the PSOL candidate.
When informed by journalists, this Wednesday (23), that Boulos had accepted Marçal’s invitation, Nunes reacted ironically: “Is Boulos going? Yes, they look very similar,” he said.
Also during a campaign agenda, this Wednesday, Boulos reiterated that he will participate in the hearing with Marçal.
“If there was a candidate who had almost 30% of the votes and wants to talk to the candidates who went to the second round and discuss proposals, I will not shy away at all. I hope my opponent has the same stance, but I have doubts”, said the deputy.
In an act with Boulos, Alckmin says that Nunes broke the government to try to win the election
In the first round, Alckmin had supported his co-religionist Tabata Amaral (PSB), who finished in 4th place, with 9.91% of the votes. Tabata was invited to the event in support of Boulos, but did not attend
“The greatest proof of my willingness to dialogue with those who think differently is to agree to speak face to face with someone who invented all kinds of lies about me and who attacked me in the most unfair way”, added Boulos.
In a press release, Pablo Marçal said that the meeting should be broadcast live on his social networks and will allow candidates to “present their proposals and solutions for the city directly to voters”.
The hearing should be held on Thursday (24), according to Marçal’s press office.
