Mayor says suspect of murdering CEO in the US has been identified
The murder occurred shortly before the company’s annual investor conference at the Hilton hotel on Sixth Avenue.
The shooting sparked a massive manhunt for the gunman, who fled on foot wearing a hooded jacket, balaclava and gray backpack before hopping on an electric bike and entering Central Park, police said.
Adams was quoted by the Post as saying that police were withholding the suspect’s name for now so as not to give him any advantage.
“We don’t want to publicize this right now,” the mayor said. “If we do, we’re basically giving a hint to the person we’re looking for, and we don’t want to give them any advantage. For them to continue to believe they can hide behind the mask.”
“We revealed his face,” he continued, referring to photos and security camera video released after the murder. “We will reveal who he is and we will bring him to justice”
