Milei decrees mourning, Cardinal asks for union: Argentina cries the death of his Pope

Milei, also in Network X, regretted the Pope’s death. The president was never close to the Pope and on several occasions offended him, saying he was “communist.” Today, Milei said that, like Argentine and man of faith, accompanies the pain of those who say goodbye to Francis.

At about 10:30 am (Brasília time), the Argentine government announced that Milei suspended his entire agenda and will travel to Rome. The president will accompany the funeral.

Early on, in a mass, the archbishop Jorge Ignacio García Cuber called for “union” of the Argentines. Cuervo is the 13th Archbishop of Buenos Aires, in office since 2023. Bergoglio had the same position from 1998 to 2013, when he was chosen Pope.
