“Unfortunately, the lives of these women – I am in accordance with the managing and breeding, without reparation rights. And now we in this only flame of hope, these vultures come wanting the money that the INSS has not even paid,” he says.

The president of the Mothers of Angels Association, Alessandra Hora, says that the demand for mothers has been big in recent weeks. “We worry because we don’t know who is on the other side, whether they are really lawyers or people passing. There are a lot of messages and calls,” he claims.

She explains that anyone who needs legal advice can seek the entity (based in Maceió) or the Public Defender’s Office, which has helped mothers to receive not only compensation but also to health services.

It would be unfair these families to have to pay lawyers by giving them half the money, as it is so little to the needs of children. There are so many demands.

OAB calls for complaints

The high level of harassment led to the Brazilian Bar Association in Alagoas to publish a note on Monday, guiding family members not to pass on information from beneficiaries to anyone who contacts us.
