Netanyahu called Pope Leo after attacking the Catholic Church of Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Pope Leo 14 on Friday, the Vatican told the day after an Israeli attack on Gaza’s only Catholic Church killed three people and injured others.
During the connection, the Pope renewed his call for a ceasefire and the end of the war in Gaza and expressed his concern with the “dramatic” humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave, according to the Vatican statement.
Pope Leo 14 also emphasized the urgent need to protect prayer places, the faithful and all people in the Palestinian and Israel territories, the statement added.
