Nikolas Ferreira visits supporters struck by lightning during an event in Brasília

Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) went to Hospital de Base, in Brasília, this Sunday afternoon (25) to visit supporters who were struck by lightning during an event organized by the parliamentarian.

In the early afternoon, dozens of people needed medical attention after lightning struck near Praça Cruzeiro, where protesters were waiting for a march by supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

“I made a point of coming here in person, even after 255 kilometers,” said Ferreira before leaving the hospital.

He said that the incident did not happen due to lack of organization or turmoil: “it was something beyond our control”.

The federal deputy ended today a walk that began last Monday (19), in Paracatu, Minas Gerais. The parliamentarian’s objective was to protest against decisions of the Federal Supreme Court involving those convicted of the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers, on January 8, 2023, and against the arrest of former president Jair Bolsonaro for an attempted coup d’état.
