One of the most expensive: what the ‘invisible’ plane with which the US attacked rebels looks like
With a modern and “triangular” look, the b-2 bomber can withstand both heavy and nuclear bombs. Depending on the load, it has a flight range of up to 9,600 km – which classifies it as an aircraft that can carry out intercontinental missions.
With capacity for two pilots, the aircraft has a wingspan of 52 meters. In height, the B-2 is 5.2 meters, with a length of 21 meters. The total load it can handle is 20 tons. The aircraft’s price is around US$2 billion (around R$11.3 billion).
B-2 has already been used in several missions undertaken by the US Air Force. The manufacturer says it was used for a 31-hour mission that left from Missouri (in the USA) to Kosovo, in southeastern Europe. The longest mission, however, was a 44-hour mission over Afghanistan.
The aircraft has appeared in several commercial films produced in the USA. Among the best known are “Independence Day”, “Armageddon”, “Iron Man 2” and “Captain Marvel”.
