Only Lula dialogues with the world, says Haddad: ‘Opposition does not transcend even its own state’
The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad (PT), stated that geopolitics will be the main challenge in the future and that, currently, only Lula has the capacity to face the challenge of inserting Brazil into the new global order.
In an interview with UOLthe minister praised the performance of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in relations with other countries and reinforced that the PT member is the only Brazilian leader capable of proposing solutions that can position Brazil as relevant in the global discussion.
“In my opinion, the big issue is the new international geopolitics. How are we going to fit into this new world order? I think Lula is capable of responding to this”, highlighted the minister.

Economy will not be decisive in winning or losing elections, says Haddad
Finance Holder states that the economy does not guarantee victory or defeat in 2026 and uses Bolsonaro as an example of how politics has become more unpredictable
Without mentioning names, Haddad also criticized the “narrow-minded” worldview of Lula’s possible opponents in the race for the presidency in 2026. For the minister, the governors and possible candidates in the elections do not have “the skills to face the international challenge that is being posed”.
“It’s that old agenda, selling the state and freezing the minimum wage. And that’s what I see from these governors”, he minimized. “This agenda will not move forward as a country project. I don’t see, on the opposition’s part, anyone who can transcend even the borders of their own state”, he concluded.
