Outlaw, Alexandre Ramagem will teach online course, woman announces

Lawyer Rebeca Ramagem, wife of impeached former federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), stated on Thursday, 18, that she has received “thousands of messages” from people interested in helping her family financially. According to her, the blocking of bank accounts in Brazil prevents any direct form of donation.

In a note published on social media, Rebeca thanked the solidarity, but said that, “due to the blocking of our accounts in Brazil, we do not, at this moment, have direct means of receiving contributions”. According to her, there is currently no formal channel for sending resources. Ramagem was sentenced to 16 years in prison in the criminal case that uncovered the coup plot and fled to the United States in September.

As an alternative, Rebeca informed that Ramagem is working on creating an online course, which will be made available on digital platforms. The idea, according to the lawyer, is that the material has “accessible value” and functions as a form of support from supporters.

“We have received thousands of messages from people expressing their desire to help us financially, and we are deeply grateful to each one of them. May God reward, double, all this solidarity and affection that we have felt daily”, wrote Rebeca.

“In this spirit, Alexandre is already working on developing an online course, which will be made available on digital platforms. It will be a very high level course, with serious, relevant and transformative content, and with an affordable price, designed to fit everyone’s income”, he added.

The demonstration occurs after Rebeca released, on Monday the 15th, a video on social media in which she claims to have had her bank accounts blocked and says she is “paying a price” for being married to Ramagem. In the video, she claims to be in the United States with her family and attributes the measure to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), although she says she did not have access to the formal decision.

“I was surprised by the blocking of all my bank accounts. There are no words to describe such absurdity. It is an act that is not only unfair, inhumane, illegal and unconstitutional”, he declared. She stated that she is not being investigated or is a defendant in any process and said she has financial independence, as she is married under a total separation of assets regime.
