The decision comes up against the high cost of the aircraft, estimated between R$1.4 billion and R$2 billion, which tends to compete for budget space with other National Defense priorities

The institute also measured the evaluation of the Lula government. For 32.7%, the PT administration is excellent or good; 23.1% rate it as regular, and the majority, 42.8%, consider the management to be bad or terrible. 1.4% did not know or did not have an opinion.

Elections 2026

Although the evaluation and approval are negative, Lula leads all first round scenarios for the 2026 presidential elections. He appears ahead of names such as former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

Despite the advantage in the first round, Lula appears in a technical tie with Bolsonaro and Flávio in the second round scenarios.
