Paulo Guedes: If Flávio Bolsonaro wins elections, he will have my full support
Former Economy Minister Paulo Guedes stated that if pre-candidate Flávio Bolsonaro wins the presidential elections this year, he will have his full support. “I’ve already been asked about Flávio being ahead, who I think will win, and I respect the numbers. If he wins he will have my full support. But Romeu Zema, Ronaldo Caiado, Ratinho Júnior, they have all already taken photos together, because the center-right will be together”, said Guedes, during a panel at the Advance 2026 event, promoted by Fami Capital this Friday, in São Paulo.
During most of his presentation, Guedes talked about the world experiencing a new world order, which he highlights is, in fact, a “disorder”. He said he cited American President Donald Trump to explain that this new order is “peace through force, in which he who can commands and whoever has sense obeys”.

According to the former minister, recent years have seen the rise and peak of the liberal order, but the current moment is one of exhaustion. At the same time, there is a wave of conservatism and geopolitical rupture, in which some powers may emerge, as happened at other times in history, he says. “The Americas will emerge, it’s the group that was submerged”, he states. “Brazil is a power waiting for its time to emerge, and the time is now.”
In the former minister’s assessment, Brazil was on a growth path, but the debt/GDP ratio has deteriorated. “It’s a pandemic inspector without a pandemic,” he says. On the other hand, he reinforces that the country is very rich and has opportunities ahead, and hopes that the alliance between liberals and conservatives will be positive.
