Pelicot’s daughter also records a complaint of sexual abuse against her father
The trial, in which Dominique Pelicot was tried with 50 defendants, became a symbol of sexual and gender violence in France and abroad.
During the trial, Caroline Darian said she was convinced that she was also a victim of her father, after photos of her unconscious, lying in a bed, wearing underwear she did not recognize, were discovered.
Dominique Pelicot, who was convicted of distributing Caroline images taken without his knowledge, denied having committed incestuous acts against his daughter.
“Yes, he denied, but lied several times and recalled several versions of the story during the two and a half year trial,” said Caroline Darian.
“And we saw clearly in that court that Dominique was never able to tell the whole truth about what had happened,” he added.
“It is important for me to convey this message so that other victims who have also suffered” chemical submission “can tell themselves (…) that they should never give up,” she said.
