PF transfers Daniel Vorcaro to common cell
The Federal Police internally transferred banker Daniel Vorcaro to a common cell in the Federal District Superintendency prison.
As a result, he is now subject to the rules of the PF’s internal regulations for visits by lawyers. These rules allow for two visits per day for a period of half an hour.
Previously, he was located in a General Staff room that had been renovated to house former president Jair Bolsonaro during his arrest. Vorcaro stayed there to work on his plea bargain proposal with his lawyers and spent almost the entire day meeting with them.
The PF had already asked the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça that Vorcaro be transferred back to a prison, on the grounds that his conditions in prison at the Superintendency altered and affected the administration’s routine.
The minister has not yet made a decision on this change of address, but has authorized the change of cells within the PF. Vorcaro has been at the Superintendence since March 19, when he began negotiating his plea bargain.
As Vorcaro’s defense had already submitted its collaboration proposal, the PF decided to apply to him the rules used for all other prisoners and place him in a common prison.
The Federal Police and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) are still analyzing the proposal presented. As shown by the Estadãothe tendency is for this proposal to be returned to the lawyers with a request to complement the topics covered.
