PF turns off air conditioning at night after Bolsonaro complains about noise in prison
The Federal Police decided to turn off, during the night, the generators responsible for the air conditioning system in the building where former president Jair Bolsonaro is imprisoned, in Brasília. The measure was adopted after requests from the defense, which had been reporting discomfort with the continuous noise from equipment installed close to the room occupied by the former agent.
According to the newspaper’s findings The Globethe generators are switched off daily between 7:30 pm and 7:30 am. During this period, the air conditioning system remains inactive to reduce noise during the rest period, without compromising the administrative functioning of the Federal Police.

Bolsonaro’s defense had taken the complaint to the Federal Supreme Court, arguing that the constant noise exceeded the discomfort and could affect the prisoner’s health and physical integrity. According to lawyers, the noise had been causing difficulty sleeping and frequent discomfort.
The situation also generated a public demonstration by the family. In a post on social media, former councilor Carlos Bolsonaro stated that the PF even provided his father with ear protectors and criticized the solution adopted, saying that the corporation had opted for a palliative measure instead of eliminating the source of the problem.
Bolsonaro has been detained at the PF Superintendence since November 22 last year, after being sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison for five crimes.
The corporation assesses that the nightly shutdown of generators meets the demand presented by the defense without changing the building’s routine or security conditions.
