Planalto confirms Gustavo Damião as new Minister of Tourism

The new Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Feliciano, should take command of the Ministry of Tourism next Tuesday, the 23rd. It is not yet known whether an open ceremony will be held at Palácio do Planalto or a more discreet appointment ceremony in the Presidency’s office.

Gustavo Feliciano is the former Secretary of Tourism of Paraíba and is the son of federal deputy Damião Feliciano (União-PB). He was nominated by the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB). He was chosen by União Brasil, which is in charge of the ministry, to take over the position.

Motta and Damião Feliciano were present at the meeting with Lula this Thursday, 18th. The leader of União Brasil in the Chamber, Pedro Lucas Fernandes (MA), was also at Planalto.
