Plane engine catches fire after landing in the US and passengers stand in the wing
An engine from an American Airlines jet caught fire after the plane deflected to Denver on Thursday, forcing passengers withdrawal using emergency slides, the United States Aviation Administration said.
The airline reported that all 172 passengers and six crew members left the plane, although Denver’s International Airport reported that 12 people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.
The American Airlines flight 1006 from Colorado Springs on a Boeing 737-800 landed in Denver around 5:15 pm (8:15 pm GMT), diverting his planned destination, Dallas, after the crew reported vibrations in the engine, FAA reported.
