On Monday morning, Trump made his first public demonstration since inauguration in January in 2025, supporting Bolsonaro and criticism of the judicial process the former president faces. Bolsonaro is a defendant for, among other crimes, attempted violent abolition of the rule of law, which he denies. Your trial is expected to happen later this year.

THE Facto News It found that the text of Trump’s post in favor of Bolsonaro had not gone through the State Department, but now American diplomacy confirms the new positioning compared to Brazil. “The president’s statement is clear, and we echo it. We will be watching closely,” says the agency’s note.

In response to Trump’s statements, still on Monday, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva stated that domestic policy and justice issues should not be the subject of foreign interference. “This country has law, there is a rule and this country has an owner called Brazilian people. Therefore, of guessing in his life and not in ours,” said Lula.

Even before Trump’s inauguration, US -based pockets were already working to promote US government sanctions against STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes, the rapporteur of lawsuits against Bolsonaro. Licensed federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro is in the US dedicated to obtaining financial sanctions against Alexandre de Moraes. The State Department refused to confirm whether Moraes will be the target of any punitive measure and sent the report to the White House. To the column, the trumpland ideologist Steve Bannon stated that Moraes will be targeted “of severe financial sanctions”, which should be realized “in weeks.”

So far, however, no concrete measure has been taken against the Brazilian minister. The Brazilian government has already told Americans that this type of action would be seen as an attack on Brazil’s sovereignty.

Today, the State Department also stated that “Jair Bolsonaro and his family have been solid partners from the United States.” He made no mention of the more than 200 years of relationship in Brazil and the United States. The column sought Itamaraty to comment on the state department note content, but did not respond until the publication of this report.
