Portuguese government confuses Palestinian flag with that of Sudan
The flags are similar. Both use Pan-Arab colors-black, white, green and red-that symbolize the identity and unity of the Arab peoples. However, they differ in the disposition: Sudan’s has horizontal lanes in red, white and black, accompanied by a green triangle on the left, while Palestine’s has horizontal lanes in black, white and green, with a red triangle on the left side.
The publication was excluded. After noticing the error, the profile of the Portuguese Executive Power removed the post and made a new publication with the correct flag, in partnership with the account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal (see below).
Portugal recognizes Palestinian State
The recognition was announced by Paulo Rangel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Portugal. “The recognition of the state of Palestine is, therefore, the fulfillment of a fundamental, coherent and widely consensual policy,” Rangel told journalists in New York on Sunday, before the UN General Assembly.
