Production of uranium enriched in Irana raises fear of nuclear weapon, alert UN
Disclosure occurs amid negotiations between Tehran and Washington, who have been trying to find a diplomatic exit for weeks to curb this nuclear climb.
Cooperation “unsatisfactory”, says UN agency
The agency also criticized Iran’s “less than satisfactory” cooperation, as pointed out for a second report prepared at the request of Western powers after a resolution adopted in November.
According to the document, Iran “repeatedly stopped answering or provided technically inconsistent answers” to AIEA questions and even “cleaned” in suspicious places, making inspections difficult in three unlavod facilities: Lavizan-Shian, Varamin and Turquzabad.
Western countries – with the United States ahead – and Israel, considered the only nuclear power in the Middle East, suspect that Tehran is trying to develop atomic weapons. Iran denies any military intention and insists on its right to peaceful use of nuclear energy, guaranteed by the Treaty of Non -Proliferation (TNP), of which it is a signatory.
On Saturday (31), the head of Iranian diplomacy, Abbas Araghi, stated that “the atomic bomb is unacceptable.” For Israel, Iran would be “determined to complete its nuclear weaponry program.”
