Ratinho Jr. says that PSD can launch a purebred ticket in the 2026 presidential race
The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Jr., stated that the PSD could launch its own candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026, including the possibility of a “pure-blood” ticket, formed only by members of the party.
The statement was made when commenting on the internal strengthening of the PSD after the affiliation of the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, and the presence of other competitive names in the presidential field, such as the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite.
“It could be. We are open and we will talk to other parties and other political actors who are important, protagonists, but today the party has cadres to be able to have a pure ticket”, stated the governor, during his participation in the Outliers Award of InfoMoneythis Thursday (29), in São Paulo.

Ratinho Jr. said that the definition of the candidate must occur jointly, based on reading the political and electoral scenario, and indicated that the decision tends to be made in April.
“This will possibly be discussed in mid-April, there is still no set date, but possibly around April 15th there will be a decision”, he declared.
According to him, the criterion will be to identify who is best suited to lead a national project. “Whoever is best able to carry this flag, this agenda, this project, we will all be together, contributing.”

The governor reinforced that, in his assessment, the PSD candidacy is not a tactical move or a trial balloon, but a concrete bet. “It’s for real. I think the party is very mature and has great cadres for it. The candidacy that isn’t for real is when it doesn’t have cadres, they are trial balloons, which is not the case with the PSD”, he stated.
When justifying the viability of his own ticket, Ratinho Jr. highlighted the administrative and electoral history of the party’s possible presidential candidates. “These are people who have already been tested at the ballot box and have already been tested in management, there are no adventurers in this process”, he said, citing Caiado, Eduardo Leite and himself as examples of consolidated trajectories.
In the governor’s assessment, the growth of space for a PSD candidacy is linked to the erosion of political polarization in recent years. “60% or more of the population is dissatisfied with this political fight, which is not bringing results to Brazil,” he stated.
According to him, the party intends to present itself as a “safe, centered and moderate” alternative, focusing on fiscal balance, legal security and job creation.
