Republicans seek impeachment of judges who disrupted Trump
The US Constitution states that the fundamentals for impeachment are betrayal, bribery or other serious crimes and misdemeanors.
To dismiss a judge from office, the House must approve impeachment by a simple majority of votes, and then the Senate must have at least one majority two -thirds to condemn the judge. Republicans control the two houses of Congress, but do not have the majority of two thirds in the Senate.
The president of the US Supreme Court, Judge John Roberts, at a rare statement, said last week after Trump requested the removal of a judge that “impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement regarding a court decision”, which may appeal.
Clyde presented his resolution against McConnell after the judge, at the request of state-of-the-art prosecutors Democratic, issued an injunction this month preventing the government from implementing a comprehensive break in federal subsidies and loans.
The resolution argues that McConnell “politicized and used his judicial position as a weapon” and should have stated that he could not decide on the request of the Democratic prosecutors because he participated in the board of a non -profit local housing and homeless service organization whose financing could be affected.
McConnell refused to comment.
