Running over in Israel hurts 7; Police investigate as possible attack

A driver ran over pedestrians at a bus stop in the city of Haifa, northern Israel, today, leaving at least seven people injured, one of them in serious condition. Authorities investigate the case as a possible terrorist attack.

What happened

The incident occurred at a cross south of Haifa, where the driver hit pedestrians waiting at a bus stop. After being run over, he followed at high speed and collided with a police car, injuring an agent. Police managed to intercept the vehicle and neutralized the suspect to shots.

The suspect, identified as a 53 -year -old man, was shot dead by police after trying to escape the scene.
