Russian attack with missiles leaves one dead and at least three injured in Kiev
One person died and at least three were injured today after a Russian attack with missiles in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, according to the local government. The action led Poland to send airplanes to ensure air safety at the border.
What happened
- Fires were recorded in at least three Kiev districts, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. At least one man died and three people were injured in the Darnytskyi district.
- The mayor guided the population to remain in safe places. “Don’t leave the shelters,” said Klitschko. Several people sought refuge at a subway station.
- The Armed Forces of Poland mobilized after the attack. The measure was taken although there are no reports of attacks or damage to the western regions of Ukraine bordering Poland.
- Poland has been on maximum warning for objects that can enter airspace since 2022when an lost Ukrainian missile hit the village of PRZEWODOW, in the south of the country, killing two people.
- Today’s attack occurs two days after a Russian bombing kill at least 19 people in Kryvyi Rih, hometown of Ukraine President Volodimir Zelensky. Among the victims were nine children.
