Sakamoto: How much does the world hold on Trump without conflict?
All of this can be camouflaged on other parrots he does, such as the issue of immigration. He uses this as a smoke curtain and to mobilize part of the American population.
The US can even pay to see why it is a ‘admirable new world’ that is unfolding and a new president adopting practices never seen before. You may even accept that your government will mix characteristics of democracy and authoritarianism. The problem is how much the world will hold on without it to a conflict.
Leonardo Sakamoto, Facto News columnist
Sakamoto pointed out that despite growing dissatisfaction with his government, Trump enjoys almost unshakable prestige within his base. The scenario may change if the American economy gives signs of weakening in the columnist’s view.
Impeachment exists, but it is out of the question. There is no popular support for this, even with a drop in approval rate. Trump continues with a lot of extremely radical and fierce supporters. Just see what was his trip to UFC days ago and all the repercussion. Even among democratic voters, there are those who criticize him for certain decisions, but praise him for others.
Trump has a support mattress. Next year, there will be elections that will renew the House and a part of the Senate. For now, no major changes are expected. A significant part of Republicans depends on Trump to reelect himself and has shown him support and love.
If Trump takes an extreme measure, such as withdrawing Jerome Powell from the Federal Reserve Presidency, the Central Bank, the economy may suffer a credibility crisis.
