Sâmia Bomfim sues STF against Nikolas Ferreira for using a jet linked to Vorcaro

Federal deputy Sâmia Bomfim (PSOL-SP) filed, this Tuesday (3), a letter to the Federal Supreme Court requesting the hearing of Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) in the inquiry investigating the Banco Master case after it was revealed that the parliamentarian used, in 2022, a jet linked to Daniel Vorcaro for Jair Bolsonaro’s electoral campaign during the second round.

The aircraft was used by Nikolas and pastor Guilherme Batista, from the Lagoinha Church, to move the Youth caravan across Brazil, with the aim of seeking votes in regions of at least nine states in which Lula came out ahead in the first round of the elections.

The jet flew to all capitals in the Northeast and also to Brasília and Vale do Jequitinhonha and Triângulo Mineiro, both in Minas Gerais, between the 20th and 28th of October.

Questioned by The GlobeNikolas confirmed having made the trips, but without knowing that the plane belonged to the former banker. The deputy stated that the trips took place at the invitation of pastor Guilherme Batista and that he did not deal with the logistics of the caravan.

In a note, Nikolas also stated that, even if he knew that the banker was the owner of the jet on that occasion, “there was no element that indicated an irregular situation or that justified questioning”.

In the document, Sâmia states that the reported facts may have legal relevance in the context of investigations that investigate possible irregularities involving Banco Master and its main director at the time. For the deputy, it is necessary to clarify whether there was a relevant material link between the parliamentarian and the business group under investigation, especially during the electoral period.

In addition to requesting Nikolas to be heard, the parliamentarian asks that the letter be added to the investigation files and that the police authority responsible for Operation Compliance Zero be notified so that possible investigations can be initiated into the reported fact.

The document also requests that the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) be officiated, so that they can analyze possible developments in the criminal and electoral sphere
