See who are the 34 reported by PGR for attempted coup d’état

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) filed, on Tuesday (18), a complaint against former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and 33 others for the crimes of attempted coup, violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law, criminal organization, damage qualified by violence and serious threat, as well as deterioration of listed assets.

The prosecution is based on the Federal Police (PF) report, which points to Bolsonaro as leader of a group that tried to prevent the inauguration of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT) after the 2022 elections.

The inquiry details meetings, documents and actions promoted by the nucleus near Bolsonaro, with the objective of questioning the outcome of the polls and fostering an environment conducive to military intervention.

The complaint directly reaches the Armed Forces, as 23 of the 33 accused are military, including former army and Navy commanders. In addition, former Bolsonaro government ministers, federal police, advisors and a journalist are also on the list.

The accused include former ministers Walter Braga Netto (Civil House), Augusto Heleno (Institutional Security Office) and Anderson Torres (Justice and Public Security), as well as Federal Deputy and former director of ABIN, Alexandre Ramagem, and Former Army Commander Paulo Sérgio Nogueira.

It will now be up to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to evaluate the receipt of the complaint and decide whether Bolsonaro and the other accused will become defendants in the case.
