The Senate approved on Wednesday (28) the bill that readjusts the salaries of the Federal Government’s servers, with an estimated impact of R $ 73 billion in the next three years.

The proposal, which now goes to President Lula’s sanction, was approved in a symbolic vote, with only two senators registering opposite vote.

The text includes the salary adjustment and new rules for career progression, although part of the professional development of servers has been withdrawn for specific committee analysis in the House.

The readjustment will be implemented in two stages: the first has already occurred in January 2025, and the second is scheduled for April 1, 2026.

According to the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI), the average increase for servers will be 27% between 2023 and 2026.

For commission positions and trusting functions, percentages range from 9% to 30%, according to the hierarchical level.

The ministry also reported that in 2023 there was a linear readjustment of 9% for these positions, without increase in 2024.

In addition to the readjustment, the project creates new careers, such as socioeconomic development, justice and defense policies, and inspection of the Securities Commission.

The text also foresees the conversion of 14,989 vague effective positions at 15,670 new posts, with 70% intended to meet federal institutes, without additional financial impact for the government.

The part of the project that deals with the professional development of the servers was taken from the report and will be discussed in a working group on administrative reform in the House of Representatives, coordinated by Deputy Pedro Paulo (PSD-RJ) and with rapporteur by Zé Trovão (PL-SC). This decision aims to deepen the debate about the public career and its rules.

The readjustment has been in force since December 2024, through provisional measure, but needed to be passed by Congress to become ordinary law. The deadline for this approval ends on June 2.
