Senate law firm calls for pre -trial detention of Ciro Gomes for gender violence

The Federal Senate’s law filed a request for preventive arrest against former Minister Ciro Gomes (PDT), accused of committing gender political violence against former senator and current mayor of Crateús (CE), Janaína Farias (PT).

The request takes place within an electoral criminal action filed by the Electoral Public Prosecution Service. The situation began in April last year, when Janaína, who was an alternate, took the place of Education Minister Camilo Santana in the Senate.
