Seven new Palestinians starve in Gaza; deaths reach 154
To date, the Israel War in Gaza has killed at least 60,138 people and injured another 146,269, according to Al Jazeera. 1,139 people are estimated to died in Israel during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, and more than 200 were captured.
Hunger in Gaza gets worse
One third of the population of Gaza has not eaten for several days. “This is not like anything we have seen in this century,” said Ross Smith, PAM’s emergency director.
About 470,000 people live in conditions close to hunger. Another remarkable fact is that 90,000 Palestinian women and children need nutritional treatment urgently. For most of the Gaza population, international food aid is the only source of food.
More than 62,000 tons of food would be required per month to serve the 2.1 million inhabitants of the Palestinian territory, PAM estimates. The quantity is three times larger than that has been distributed by the program since the reopening of the borders by Israel, which organizes the entry of humanitarian aid in the enclave.
Help enters Gaza after ‘pause’; UN says it is ‘gout in the ocean’
Last Sunday, inputs of more than 120 trucks had already been collected for distribution. Another 180 entered the enclave and awaited the collection of materials by the UN and international organizations. Hundreds are still in line, according to the COGAT (Coordinator of Israeli Government Activities in the Territories).
