Simone Tebet proposes a review in BPC standards
The Minister of Planning and Budget, Simone Tebet, suggested that the Continuing Benefit Benefit Law (BPC) will require judicial authorization so that minors who receive the benefit can make payroll loans. Tebet reported on Tuesday (8) to the Joint Budget Commission (CMO) that about 500,000 minors have already hired these loans through their legal guardians, according to data verified by the government.
The minister said that it is necessary to close loopholes in the law that have been opened since 2022, with Provisional Measure 1,106/2022, and that allowed a growth in the number of people with disabilities who obtained the BPC by court decision.

“This is a government that does not accept to take anyone’s right. We just do not want and we can not pay to those who do not need or is not within the rules,” he said.

Tebet also spoke about the 2026 Budgetary Guidelines Law (PLN 2/2025). She said the surplus goal of $ 34.3 billion to 2026 is challenging but feasible. Budget projection for the coming years shows a significant drop in costing and investment expenses because of the increase in mandatory expenses. According to the minister, the government is working to cut expenses and spend better, but will not cut in social areas. She defended cuts about tax exemptions.
The president of the CMO, Senator Efraim Filho (Union-PB), was contrary to increases in the tax burden.
“If the citizen of the floor is incorrectly pays an improper tax, who is an entrepreneur in this country is a resistance hero and is also paying too much.
