STF ministers are outraged by leaked meeting: ‘A kid’s thing’
Ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) were outraged by the leak of the secret meeting that decided, on Thursday, for Dias Toffoli to leave the report on the investigations into the Banco Master case in the Court. A magistrate even classified the revelation of private conversations as “kid stuff”.
Website report Power360 reproduced speeches in full attributed to STF ministers during the meeting held on Thursday night. The dialogues published by the portal show that seven ministers (Alexandre de Moraes, André Mendonça, Cristiano Zanin, Flávio Dino, Gilmar Mendes, Luiz Fux and Nunes Marques) were in favor of Toffoli remaining at the head of the Master case rapporteur, while two others (Cármen Lúcia and Edson Fachin) had reservations.
Toffoli denies having recorded a private STF session on the Master case
Minister says the suspicion is “absolutely untrue” after publication of dialogues attributed to the meeting that discussed his departure from the rapporteur
When questioned by GLOBEsome ministers questioned the content of the dialogues released by the Power360. A member of the STF said that there are “very different” things in the conversations.

Other magistrates began to criticize and question Toffoli, who told the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo who did not record the meeting. “I don’t record or report ministers’ conversations. I don’t report personal or institutional conversations. I’ve never recorded a conversation in my life,” said Toffoli.
According to members of the STF, there were no assistants or technicians at the meeting, but only the ten members who currently make up the court. Ministers say that the leak worsens the environment of disunity that was already being observed in the Court, with internal distrust and similar to what existed before the pandemic, when magistrates were engaged in public disputes.
