Storms kill 28 and leave 7 million at risk in the US
Authorities maintain maximum warning, monitoring the evolution of climatic conditions to try to minimize new damage and victims. The adverse scenario is expected to remain for the next few days.
On Friday, a tornado hit Williamson County in Illinois and injured at least seven people. Already on Sunday, two warnings became emergencies of tornado “large and destructive” in Greensburg and Plevna, Kansas.
Missouri governor Mike Kehoe asked on the social network that people avoid damaged areas. The goal is for rescuers to help people who need assistance and so that public works teams can clean the rubble. Kentucky governor Andy Beshear said he was looking for collective shelters to accommodate those who lost their houses.
