Commissioners ask for readjustment and payment of hours worked on soil
Strike in high season occurs to claim better wages. Office commissioners also require the hours worked on soil, boarding and disembarking passengers, for example, be paid. Today, they do not receive for this work.
Negotiations extend for about eight months. Air Canada’s last proposal proposed 38% increase in total remuneration, including benefits and retirement. The union, however, considered that an 8% readjustment in the first year, as suggested, would not be enough.
