Tarcísio has 62% approval in the state capital, shows Paraná Research

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), has the approval of 62.4% of voters in São Paulo, according to a survey by Paraná polls released on Thursday (7). The disapproval is 32.3%, while 5.4% of respondents could not answer or preferred not to give their opinion.

The survey reveals that Tarcisio’s management maintains solid performance with the São Paulo city electorate, the country’s main electoral college. For 33.6% of respondents, the government is “good”; Another 11.4% classify it as “great”, totaling 45% positive evaluation. 29.1% consider the administration “regular”, 7.8% see it as “bad” and 15.2% as “terrible”.

The performance in Sao Paulo is strategic for Tarcisio’s political project, which appears hard in national scenarios and is considered a possible name to run for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026 if former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) is ineligible.

Expressive approval can serve as a political capital to influence the 2026 municipal elections and reinforce the role of Tarcisio as prominent leadership in the field of the post-Bolsonaro right.

The survey of Paraná Research was conducted between August 2 and 6, with 1,020 voters from the municipality of São Paulo. The margin of error is 3.1 percentage points, for more or less, and the confidence level is 95%. The survey was registered with the Superior Electoral Court under the number SP-09192/2025.
