Tarcisio says Jair Bolsonaro faces "great injustice"

The governor of Sao Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), exalted former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during the Barretos Pawn Party on Saturday, 23. With a Bolsonaro doll in his hands, he said the former president “opened doors” and today faces “a great injustice.” Bolsonaro has been under house arrest since the beginning of the month by determination of Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF).

“I entered here (for the first time) with President Bolsonaro, with this person here, who did everything for me, who opened me doors and who is going through a great injustice,” said Tarcísio, who received a doll from the former president of the state deputy of Sao Paulo Lucas Bove (PL). “But if humiliation brings sadness the time will bring justice and I’m sure justice will come,” said the governor.

“The vocation of Brazil is being great. No one will hold this country. No one will hold Brazil and we will not allow it,” added the governor of São Paulo, who was next to the governors of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), and Minas Romeu Zema (Novo), both quoted to run for presidency.

In a press conference after speaking on stage, Tarcisio was asked about the right -wing electoral strategy to 2026 and answered praising Caiado and Zema, whom he called “two great managers”, and said he was “sure that the right has excellent names for Brazil”.

When speaking on stage, not directly mentioning the Lula government, Tarcisio said it is not possible to “accept and respect” those who do not like agribusiness. “Those who do not respect agribusiness does not respect Brazil,” said the governor, under applause from the audience.

Tarcísio also announced investments in Barretos, such as the expansion of the city’s airport, which according to him will have his capacity more than doubled.
