Telegram excludes fake channel from the Ministry of Defense used to promote fake news
Telegram excluded, on Monday (10), a channel that used the name of the Ministry of Defense to trigger false information. The block was made after a request from the folder, which stressed that it had no bond with the channel.
The existence of the group was revealed after the Ministry of Defense learned of it through a report. The channel, which until 9 pm on Monday (10) had 419 subscribers, displayed a single message, which incited a coup in support of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The publication, dated November 9, 2022, said: “Give the blow, Jair 🇧🇷”, and added 711 reactions, with emojis that expressed both approval and disapproval.

The publication indicated an “official note” and directed users to a link that led to the channel on Telegram, where the coup message was published. Although the channel had the name of the folder, its cover displayed a picture of Jair Bolsonaro.
In response to the situation, the Ministry of Defense has clarified that it maintains only one official channel, with the seal of verification of the social network, accessible through the link: t.me/ministerriodefesaoficial.
By the end of Monday, the fake channel had already been erased by the platform.
