‘There is a climate of convergence; names will settle down’, says Flávio, about alliances
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency, reaffirmed this Tuesday, 3rd, that the mission assigned to the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), is re-election to the state government and linked the political success of the head of the São Paulo Executive to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). In a nod, however, Flávio referred to Tarcísio as a “political revelation”.
“Tarcísio is perhaps the biggest political revelation of recent years. He is from Bolsonaro’s group, he came from Bolsonaro’s side… He, Bolsonaro, saw in Tarcísio a serious person, a competent and intelligent manager and who is the face that São Paulo voters choose”, declared Flávio in an interview with influencer Paulo Figueiredo’s YouTube channel.

The senator said he hopes to attract the support of center-right parties, even in a possible second round. “I’m happy with the way things are going. They’re integrating us. I respect each one’s time, but I will always seek unity, be it now, in the middle of the election or in the second round, if there is one”, he said.
“For my part, there has always been unity. I never considered a scenario in which there would be no integration. Each party in its own time, I respect that. I never had any doubt that we will walk together. It’s the analogy of a melon in a truck: we move forward, the melons settle down”, he said.
The statement was made during Flávio’s trip to Bahrain, as part of an attempt to get closer to the international right. The senator has already passed through Israel and is expected to head to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. It also plans to soon go to Latin American countries, such as Mexico and Argentina. According to the senator, the international trips aim to explain why Jair Bolsonaro chose him as a pre-candidate.
Flávio also stated that “many disdain” the work of former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), who accompanies him on trips.
The senator announced his pre-candidacy on December 5th. Since then, he has tried to capture the support of center parties, such as PP, Republicans and União Brasil.
