Trump appoints ‘border czar’ as head of immigration control agency
The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Sunday (10) the return of Tom Homan as head of the agency responsible for border and immigration control (ICE). Homan, known as the “border czar”, will be responsible for “all deportations of illegal aliens to their home countries”, declared Trump, who also confirmed Elise Stefanik as the new US ambassador to the UN.
Trump promised to launch the largest operation to deport illegal immigrants in the history of the United States, shortly after his inauguration in January, on his first day in the White House.
“I am pleased to announce that former ICE Director Tom Homan will join the Trump administration, where he will be responsible for our nation’s borders,” the Republican billionaire wrote on his Truth Social network.
