Trump attacks a country to defend political ally, says Lula’s minister about tariff
United States President Donald Trump attacked Brazil with a 50% tariff to seek to defend his political ally, former President Jair Bolsonaro, said the minister of the presidential secretary, Márcio Macêdo, in an interview with Portal Metropolis This Wednesday.
“He defends his political ally to attack a country, I think this is not reasonable,” Macêdo said after Trump’s announcement that he will tax the US exported to the US by 50%.
By announcing tariffs, Trump said in a letter addressed to the Brazilian government that “the way Brazil has treated former president Bolsonaro, a highly respected leader around the world during his term, including the United States, is an international shame.”
