Trump calls Putin to deal with trilateral meeting with Zelensky
The meeting took place two days after the Republican met Vladimir Putin. On Friday, Trump and the Russian leader gathered in Alaska to discuss the future of the war, but the presidents failed to reach an agreement for the end of the conflict.
European chiefs are at the table with Zelensky and Trump. During their official speeches, the leaders kept support for Ukraine and said they will collaborate for an attempt to cease fire. In a relaxed tone and in exchange for cordialities, the leaders thanked Trump’s initiative in promoting today’s meeting.
Seven world leaders are in the White House. Names such as Ursula Von Der Leyen, President of the European Commission, Mark Rutter, NATO Secretary-Rutter, as well as leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Finland are present at the White House.
Trump Confident with Agreement
Earlier, during an appearance with Zelensky, Trump said he will reach a peace agreement. During a press conference at the White House today, the US president said alongside Zelensky that he has no doubt that he will reach an agreement for the end of the war between Ukraine and Russia.
I have no doubt that we will reach a peace agreement. We have seven leaders from large countries and we’ll talk about it.
