Trump considers accepting plane offered by Qatar, says American press

It is expected that the donation will be announced next week. The announcement must be made during Trump’s first official trip abroad in his second term. The Republican will embark for Qatar tomorrow.

Trump has already done a tour of the aircraft. In February, NYT and news agency Reuters published records of the president by visiting the aircraft while she was parked at Palm Beach International Airport.

After receiving the aircraft, the United States Air Force will adapt the vehicle. These modifications will be made for the plane to meet the specifications necessary to transport the president of the country. The plane will be ready to use the president later this year, according to NYT.

White House lawyers analyzed that the donation is legitimate. According to the sources of ABC News, lawyers made an analysis of the laws against bribery of the United States Constitution and assured the Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, that accepting the aircraft and doing it to the library is then “legally allowed.”

Analysis considered that the present billionaire will not be given to an individual, but to the United States. They also considered that as Trump will not announce any act for the benefit of Qatar, the donation should not be seen as a “bribe”.

US government and Qatar did not comment on the case. The two organs gave no response to NYT and ABC News.
