Trump says he has no plans according to EU and that tariffs ‘are already placed at 50%’
The president also said that the country has “many commercial agreements ready to be signed.” Asked about an eventual 25% tariff about iPhones manufactured outside the US, he said: “These rates may extend to Samsung as well. If Apple and Samsung make factories in the US, there will be no tariffs on them.”
Trump also commented on statements from Apple CEO, Tim Cook. “He said he will make factories in India, but Apple would still be charged. If they are selling their products here, they will have to manufacture here,” he said.
According to him, it still makes sense that the country imports certain items – without specifying which one. “Some products the US don’t want to make, as they are better elsewhere.”
When asked about the possibility of resuming funding from Harvard University, Trump stated that the institution “will have to change some ways” to make it happen. “We don’t want anti -Semitism” in the United States, he said.
