“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it wasn’t for me, a lot of really bad things would have happened in Russia, and I mean really bad. He’s playing with fire,” Trump said in a social Truth post on Tuesday.

The president, who is proud to have friendly relationships with Putin, did not go into detail.

Dmitry Medvedev, the high -ranking authority of Russian security, rejected Trump’s criticism.

“With regard to Trump’s words about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and ‘really bad things’ happening to Russia, I only know something really bad – World War II. I hope Trump understands that!” Wrote Medvedev in English on the social media platform.

In a post on Sunday, Trump said Putin had “got absolutely crazy” when triggering a massive air strike against Ukraine.

Putin said, after a two -hour call with Trump last week that Russia was ready to work with Ukraine in a memo about a future peace agreement.
