US Justice denies Trump’s request to ward off Lisa Cook from the Central Bank
The United States Court denied, on Monday (15), Donald Trump’s request that was trying to prevent the participation of Federal Reserve Director Lisa Cook at a US Central Bank meeting.
What happened
The decision of the court of appeal ensures that Lisa Cook can vote later this week about the definition of interest rates in the country. Trump can still appeal, although a victory seems distant, according to the New York Times.
The US President claims that Cook obtained loans under better conditions by declaring two properties as the main residence, a practice considered illegal. The complaint targets real estate in Michigan and Atlanta, acquired before its entry into the Fed.
