US Secretary of Commerce says electronics will have separate tariffs

Decision can benefit Tesla, a billionaire company and head of the American Government Efficiency Department Elon Musk. The list includes several parts of semiconductors, flat screens and integrated circuits, which helps Tesla, as their electric vehicles have touches and computers.

Many of the flat screens are manufactured in Asia, which was targeted by the US government. TSMC and Samsung, which produce Tesla chips, have large factories in China, Taiwan and South Korea.

Advertisement has been interpreted as an attempt to soften tariff impact on major US technology companies such as Apple and Dell. Both depend on the external production of electronic products. The exemption includes even items from China, which are currently reached by an additional 145%tariff.

Change of orientation, which was not justified by the government, is the other retreat of the White House. This afternoon, Trump said that “no one will get rid of the tariffs imposed by the US. In a post on Truth Social, he explained that the electronics chain will not be exempt from tariff and that these products continue to be taxed, but in a different category of 20%.
