USA Grant Haddad visa in the midst of diplomatic tension between government and Trump
Finance Minister Fernando Haddad had his visa granted to the United States on Monday. Minister had to request authorization renewal after a previous visa wins in May.
Haddad will attend New York Climate Week held in September this year. The event gathers global governments and business sectors to discuss climate change challenges.
The minister should also travel to the Annual Meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, which takes place in October in the American capital, Washington.

With the previous visa won in May, the minister had to ask in August to renew the authorization for the American Embassy.

The request took place amid the diplomatic tension between the Brazilian government and that of President Donald Trump, who canceled the visa of eight Ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and relatives of Health Minister Alexandre Padilha. President Lula said the Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, also had the visa canceled.
Padilha also plans to attend events in the United States in the coming months, and has already stated that Itamaraty has requested its access to commitments. His visa won in 2024 and also needs renewal.
The Health Minister must attend the UN General Assembly and the Pan American Health Organization (PAH) conference.
